Buying a Custom Leather Jacket in the USA: Measurements, Shipping and Returns

A custom leather jacket can fit better than an off-the-rack garment, but only when the order details are complete and realistic. This guide explains what US buyers should check before ordering a custom or made-to-measure jacket online.
Know what “custom” means
Custom sizing changes the fit. It does not automatically change the design, material, color or accessories. Confirm the exact product, finish, included items and personalization instructions before payment.
Take measurements carefully
Use one unit consistently and follow a measurement guide. Depending on the garment, useful measurements may include chest, shoulder, sleeve, requested length, waist, hips, inseam, height or torso length. Have another person check the tape position and record the values before submitting the order.
Ask the right questions
- What material and lining are used?
- Which accessories are included in the package?
- Are the measurements body measurements or finished garment measurements?
- Can the seller confirm the production queue for your destination?
- What happens if an item arrives damaged, defective or incorrect?
Allow time for production and international shipping
uLeather dispatches from Pakistan. Made-to-order garments have a published 4–5 working day production estimate after payment and complete order details, followed by a typical 15–25 day transit estimate. Customs, weather and courier delays can extend the estimate. Contact support before paying if the order is for a fixed event date. Standard shipping is currently US$39 per order where the store configuration applies; duties and destination charges may be separate.
Understand returns before checkout
Eligible standard items may be requested for return within 7 days of delivery. Custom and made-to-measure items are generally excluded from buyer-remorse returns because they are prepared for a specific customer, although damaged, defective or incorrect items should be reported with photos.
